GROUNDS & MAINTENANCE 'Jack of all trades'
This 5 star Holiday Resort has picked up a few awards over the last year or so, among them - reaching a national finalist award for guest service, and winning the New Zealand National Tourism Award for the Holiday park sector in 2007.
Our team is dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible ‘Kiwi Holiday’ we can. Each team member has their area of expertise – YOUR speciality must be Grounds and Maintenance, with a strong dash of customer service and team involvement. Unfortunately poor health has meant we are losing our current 'top man' for the job and he leaves big shoes to fill ....so read on to see if you feel you've got what it takes to make the 'shoe' fit ....
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• An EXPERIENCED TRADESPERSON – not just a ‘Tom’, ‘Dick’ or ‘Harry’ who can only unblock toilets, change a bulb or fix a leaky tap WE WANT a ‘Jack’ of all Trades who can do all of these AND build a retaining wall, resow lawn or even lay a few drainpipes when needed;
• A ‘PEOPLE PERSON’ – who smiles A LOT, enjoys a laugh and will pitch in to share the load with the great team we have here (everyone pitches in when needed);
• A ‘FINISHER’ WHO IS CALM UNDER FIRE – the list of jobs is endless so you MUST be able to document a ‘plan of attack’ to ensure things get done within timeframes and ‘done right the first time, everytime’ with the ability to calmly ‘change tack’ if need be;
• A HARDWORKER – who takes pride in achieving a great deal of quality work each and every day;
• Someone who is willing to LIVE ON-SITE .
WHAT WILL YOU BE EXPECTED TO DO?
The responsibility for maintaining the 5 acres of grounds and various facilities of this resort, and the grounds and facilities of Beachaven Motels and Holiday Park (4.2 acres) fall on YOUR shoulders and includes:
• Ensuring Resort grounds are maintained at a 5 STAR LEVEL – ‘first impressions’ are everything;
• Pool and other facilities including gym and sauna are CLEANED AND MAINTAINED (in peak times this may include assisting with shower/toilet block cleaning from time to time);
• Carrying out a myriad of MAINTENANCE JOBS around the park in the grounds, facilities and accommodation units (over 50 of these!);
• Working on a ‘6 day on 2 day off’ roster and doing some ‘NIGHT WORK’ on your rostered days including answering phones, checking-in late arriving guests and doing ‘walk arounds’ as security checks.
• Overseeing the grounds and maintenance work of our other holiday park down the road – Beachaven Motels and Holiday Park
